Bio

Artist Statement: Tasha seeks to explore complex experiences and emotions through intuitive creation and mixed media experimentation. She explores emotion, identity, culture, space and social constructs and how they intersect. Since a young age, Tasha felt an overwhelming conviction to address and creatively express herself through visual arts, song and poetry. It is her hope that her work not only empowers survivors and underrepresented individuals, but also challenges viewers.
Tasha was born in the late 1980s by parents from small Southern towns respectively. She was fortunate to have traveled the world with her family as a military dependent and grew fond of experiencing different foods, music, cultures, and environments. As a child, Tasha loved to sing, write songs, dance, and doodle to her hearts content. Trusting her parents’ guidance, however, Tasha went on to receive a Bachelor of Science with a focus on Sociology and later an Executive Master of Business Administration with a focus on Strategic Leadership. She has worked over 5 years in social services and mental health and has also served as an Innovator, Writer, Graphic Designer and Consultant for various entities throughout her 15+ year professional career.
She first began presenting her artwork publicly in 2010 and has obtained many accolades since to include a front cover publication by a notable magazine and serving as an African American Arts Advisor and Exhibition Designer for prominent US museum during their first Black Arts exhibition. Throughout her art career she has created more than 11 series that have been depicted in multiple unique individual and group exhibitions.
